ProgramME Outline

This programme will begin with the foundation of problem-based learning (PBL). The focus of the courses in this programme will be on economics in the healthcare system and management. Students will gain fundamental knowledge of the structure of the German healthcare system. Such knowledge is necessary for anticipating and handling possible obstacles and conflicts. Process management and process evaluation will serve as the emphasis of our framework of the management module.

Students will also take subject-related courses from "Studium Fundamentale", which includes topics such as ethical questioning, presentation skills and rhetoric, group dynamics and conflict management.

In the research and practice modules in the 5th and 6th semesters, theory and practical skills will be closely interconnected. From these modules, students will gain deeper insight into defined topic areas. Students are required to complete a Bachelor project and its assessment in order to graduate.

Obtaining the Degree

This programme can be taken in part-time or practice-integrated form. We strongly recommend a combination of work/training and study so that both theory and practical skills attained from this programme can be used. Students will spend around 12.5 hrs/week in class and work at least 15 hrs/week with our university partner organisations.

Core competencies

The growing specialization of healthcare and social services has led to fragmented structures with many different institutions and operating processes for patients. Properly trained professionals are needed now more then ever!

In Germany, until now, training in the fields of care and case management were normally covered through continuing education courses.

To provide satisfactory service, managers are needed who can plan, supervise and monitor service connections as well as act as the first line of contact for patients. Graduates receive interdisciplinary training in order to understand and penetrate the relationship of the service providers and the healthcare providers.

You could work, for example, as a caseworker or a case manager on behalf of stationary service providers or networks.

Admission Procedure

All applicants who fulfill the formal requirements will be invited to a personal interview. An invitation will follow the submission of your application.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee is 450 EUR per month.
